The earlier language experienced a particular musical accent. During the considerably south as well as northeast, the accent remains managed as distinctions of pitch, vowel duration, or a mix of the two. Inside the 15th century, reduced-pitched syllables had been left unmarked but a dot was put into the remaining with the substantial-pitched syllables plus a double dot (just like a colon) was put beside syllables that rose from low to superior.

Sejong's solution solved equally issues: The vertical stroke still left from was added on the null image to produce (a casino circle which has a vertical line on best), iconically capturing both of those the pronunciation [ŋ] in the middle or conclusion of a phrase, and the same old silence at the start. (The graphic difference between null and ng was sooner or later shed.)
